We have a wonderful massage therapist, Nichole Cea!
Whether you’re a competitive athlete, hiker, mountain biker, or all-around gym enthusiast; Sports massage allows you to perform your best, recover better, and reduce wear and tear on the body.
A Sports Massage session may include deep tissue massage and modalities such as Active Release Techniques and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation). The intention is to free up the joints, restore mobility, and flush out any soreness. These sessions can also help with proper muscle activation so you can move, play or compete at your best.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE & YOGA
Commonly referred to as MFR, this technique is a sustained gentle pressure to allow the fascia and the body to soften. I had the honor of taking several courses with John F. Barnes here in Sedona. I like to integrate our understanding of fascia, breathwork & gentle yoga to create a self care routine specifically for you!
ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE
This is a type of Manual Therapy that combines manipulation and movement to help relieve adhesions and impingement. This is especially helpful for the athlete looking for immediate results. I did my training in Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, and Spine at the ART Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
ADVANCED TECHNIQUES AND ORTHOPEDIC TESTING FOR SPORTS MASSAGE.
Nichole is trained to help evaluate and determine the cause or source of pain and injury. If she believes you are in need of imaging, PT, or see an orthopedic surgeon she will refer you to one.
